SISnet Engine

SISnet Engine is configured as an advanced product workshop that combines the need to configure and parametrize products with the capabilities of a calculation and a rules engine.

Both engines are interconnected with parametrization systems, which give the tool the ability to consider information not only as a static element, but dynamic.

Technological Keys

  • Modular solution
  • Founded in open systems: Java + Internet based technologies
  • Multiplatform: J2EE as development standard
  • Scalable: at functional level (product design through the Product Workshop) and systems level (from a small server to a host)
  • Multichannel: differentiated engine by distribution and solutions channel for any commercial network configuration through different devices (browser, PDA´s, mobile...)
  • Mutiproduct: able to provide support to any insurance line
  • Multilanguage: support for an interface in different languages
  • Distributed Systems architecture: for operational management and processes
  • Traceability: audit record on changes made

Process view

The image of SISnet Motor is represented through a pyramid in which on one side we show the view of processes and on the other side the view of advanced products workshop.
In the case of the processes view, this side of the pyramid is divided into three blocks that from top to bottom would be:
  • Zero-Code (Vertex of the pyramid): Instead of developing or using any scripting it is possible to customize the system only using configuration.
  • Operation (Intermediate part of the pyramid):
    • Operational agenda
      • Task diary
      • Task tagging
      • Contextualization of the task in the system and process
      • Filters
      • Programmable alarms
      • Annotation history by task
      • Link to underlying object
      • Task Distribution
      • Export tools
    • Process instances
      • Automatic creation of process instances
      • Standardized container of instances
      • Business objects related by processes
      • Activity traceability
      • Status traceability
      • Traceability of business situations
  • Definition (Lower part of the pyramid):
    • Operational structures
      • Hierarchical configuration
      • Manager management
      • Operator management
      • Operation groups

Product Workshop Modules

SISnet Engine. Parameterization system

Definition

Information repository where the configuration of any insurance element is stored.

Main elements and characteristics

  • Metadata-based
  • Adaptable to any company and insurance line
  • Static and versioned parameterization nodes
  • Inclusion of non-tabulated contents: texts, clauses, documents,...
  • Parameterization of questionnaires

Available tools

  • Parameter modeller: Parameter maintenance systems by the technical user
  • Mini-workshops: Thematic parameterization systems for different insurance elements
  • Product wizards: Guided maintenance process with the possibility of duplicating, modifying, consulting and validating a business line with its associated products
  • Promotion between environments

SISnet Engine. Calculation Systems

Definition

Platform which allows defining and calculating company needs for any insurance line.

Main elements and characteristics

  • Integrated with product definition
  • Includes user definition and configuration of tariff tables
  • In-house repository of formulas
  • Definition and versioning of formulation flows
  • Multi-channel, multi-tariff and multi-product system
  • Tracking of intermediate calculations

Available tools

  • Tariff modelling
    • Creation of tariff tables by the user
    • Calculation factors definition
    • Maintenance of rates on the modelled tariff
    • Assignment of specialized search engines
  • Formula repository
    • Adding and maintaining formulas in the repository
    • Assigning price charts to formulas
    • Differentiation of formulas programmed by the technical and the computer user
  • Formulation flows

Assignment of formula flow to be used in calculators through multi-level systems.

    The levels are:

    • Production / portfolio / pre-portfolio / others
    • Channel
    • Business line
    • Modality
    • Coverage
    • Surcharge / tax
    • Other
  • Automated promotion between environments
  • Unit and massive simulation systems

SISnet Engine. Expert Systems

Definition

Expert Systems are a set of rules which interact in a particular order and sequencing, in order to answer to a company policy. The systems are categorized by the areas on which they interact. In this sense, the following expert systems are detailed::

  • Underwriting
  • Non-paymnent
  • Decision
  • Refund
  • Fraud
  • Payment
  • Claim opening
  • Risk verification

Main elements and characteristics

  • Contains its own rules repository
  • Enables assignment of competencies and authorization levels
  • It has self-configurable parameterization systems with the chance of versioning

Available tools

  • Rule repository
    • Addition and maintenance of rules in the repository, allowing their control and reuse
    • Flow control module for expert systems where the order and segments of rules to be invoked are defined
  • Promotional tools between environments
  • Programming systems by the technical user
  • Unit and massive simulation systems
